Reality has produced enough strange events, unlikely inventions, extraordinary places, close escapes and decisions that changed what came afterward. It does not need much help from fiction.
Cinefable is an independent factual publication about the parts of the real world that become more interesting the closer you look. I research documented events, places, discoveries, technology, games and histories, then tell them without filling inconvenient gaps just because a cleaner story would read better.
Sometimes the record gives a clear answer. Sometimes several accounts survive. Sometimes a place has a documented history sitting underneath generations of folklore.
The distinction is part of the story.

Some places are extraordinary because nature made them that way. Others became extraordinary through centuries of human history. I look beyond the photograph to understand what actually made them worth knowing.

Haunted & Abandoned
Abandoned buildings and supposedly haunted places often have two histories: what can be documented and what people later came to believe about them. Cinefable tells both without confusing one for the other.

Survival & Disaster
Disasters expose engineering limits, human decisions, chance and sometimes extraordinary survival. These are factual accounts of what happened, how people responded and why some outcomes were very different from what anyone expected.
The Story Still Has to Be True
Interesting subjects do not receive a different standard of evidence.
I do not invent dialogue, private thoughts, motives or missing scenes. A repeated claim does not become verified merely because enough websites copied it. Folklore is identified as folklore. Conflicting evidence remains conflicting when the surviving record cannot honestly settle it.
There is already enough strange material in reality.
Adding things would rather defeat the point.
